In the second of our ‘Meet our Apprentices’ series, we chat to Max and find out what he’s been up to since joining Zone at the end of last year.

1. Who I am and what I do:

I am Max Webster-Khan and I am one of the new junior developers who started at Zone in November on the apprenticeship scheme.

2. Me in three words:

Quiet, easy-going and logical.

3. What I was doing before my apprenticeship:

I was working in an admin role for a women’s health charity.

4. Why I chose to join the Zone apprenticeship scheme:

I have a passion for tech and software development, I studied at home in my spare time but wanted to progress my skills into a career and Zone was an amazing opportunity I was lucky to be selected to be a part of.

5. In my first month I have mainly been working on…

Building responsive html emails within the BMW group.

6. The most challenging thing that happened today:

Trying to learn certain aspects of JavaScript and its uses in a working environment.

7. The most important thing I have learned so far is:

Always ask for help when you’re stuck as there is a wealth of knowledge around in people who are happy to help.

8. Here’s £10 for lunch. What are you getting and where are you eating it? Eat-a-pitta and at the office.

9. If I’m putting together a Friday playlist, what are you adding?

Rap/Hip-hop.

10. The most surprising thing about Zone is:

How friendly and helpful everyone has been despite being busy with their own work and commitments

11. My one piece of advice for other budding apprentices is…

Do your best to find solutions yourself but don’t waste too much time and ask other knowledgeable people who work with you.
